A yahoo account that I have used exclusively for online payments incl to HM Land Registry has 3 new emails with attachments, all purporting to be from Yahoo and all saying they have closed my account due to violation of site policy. One attachment couldn't be scanned as it said the virus checking facility was temporarily unavailable, so I closed it; another came up with a virus straight away and the third I didn't check at all. They purport to be from webmaster@yahoo.com, mail@yahoo.com and admin@yahoo.com.
I've done nothing dodgy but I am nervous that someone has access to my account and possibly payment details. None of my or my OH's other webmail accounts are at all affected and 2 are with yahoo.
What must I do? Has anyone else had this happen? Is there a genuine yahoo.com address that I can report it to?
thanks, it's scary out there.
