Employment status and car insurance

Hello.

So sorry if this has been asked recently - I did a search but couldn't find anything.

I have a baby daughter and have decided not to go back to work until she is 3 years old. I am currently renewing my car insurance and if I put in "unemployed" as my status, my annual premium is over £100 more than if I chose the "houseperson" option.

Does anyone know the difference? I'm not actually sure what "houseperson" means. I live alone with my daughter so technically i'm not a "houswife"...whatever that term means!

Any advice would be gratefully received.

You are only unemployed if you are seeking work.

Housewife would be the best description for you and would be the description the Insurers would wish to charge the premium based on, you may find some websites have "Houseparent" as a description if you prefer
