Hi All,
Our system was installed on 8th Dec (very close to the deadline)! and we're very much newbies .. Still fasinated with the daily generation. I have a handy spreadsheet logging the data.
We've generated 137 units so far in 34 days which is slightly above the predicted avg. I haven't really noticed a reduction in the normal electric consumption / day which I've also logged. I assume this will be more noticeable when the days start to get longer and brighter.
I'm still getting used to only putting on one appliance at a time and not using them in the evenings. Means I have to be slightly more organised than usual.
Any other hints and tips ?0 -
May I ask what home insurance company you are with?
Thanks.0 -

My 2.96kWp system generated 85kWh during the month of December - but I'm much further south in Bedfordshire. Except for a few good days when the sun shone for most of the day, my figures would have been far lower. At this time of the year it all depends on how lucky you are with a few good days. The previous year (2010) I managed only 37kWh during December.

I only managed 98kWh in Bedford for a 4kWp system, so that sounds pretty reasonable to me.4kWp, Panels: 16 Hyundai HIS250MG, Inverter: SMA Sunny Boy 4000TLLocation: Bedford, Roof: South East facing, 20 degree pitch20kWh Pylontech US5000 batteries, Lux AC inverter,Skoda Enyaq iV80, TADO Central Heating control0 -
