My Solic 200 turned up today - in a surprisingly small box.
Having a look at the immersion heater setup, I think I am going to have to call in an electrician. The immersion heater appears not to have a dedicated circuit off the consumer unit and is somehow wired up with the boiler.
Also, it'd be nice to get the 10 year warranty.4.3kW PV, 3.6kW inverter. Octopus Agile import, gas Tracker. Zoe. Ripple x 3. Cheshire0 -
We had solar installed on a previous house 13 years ago and were getting 53p per unit when we sold. All the buyers moaned about the aesthetics and weren't interested in the benefits. The FITS payments paid for the gas.
Anyway we had solar batteries installed 2 weeks ago on our current house..
My question is whats everyones average standby consumption in watts ours is around 300 watts?0 -
Still people who are really averse to PV, but maybe that will change its the crazy prices. I quite like the look of my GSE-mounted setup though.
Is there some easy way to determine standby consumption?

Our panels were installed in 2012 and the FIT payments have covered our gas and electricity bills ever since (this year it's not clear yet of they will). My question is whats everyones average standby consumption in watts ours is around 300 watts?
300 watts is 7kWh a day, 2600kWh a year, 90% of the "average" household's total annual use.Ober on the main Energy board the isial target is to get vampire loads below 100 watts.ccbrowning said:Is there some easy way to determine standby consumption?
If you have a smart meter, look at the amount of electricity you use when everyone is in bed asleep eg. midnight to 0600. Or see what you use when you're on holiday.

2.72kWp PV facing SSW installed Jan 2012. 11 x 247w panels, 3.6kw inverter. 34 MWh generated, long-term average 2.6 Os.Not exactly back from my break, but dipping in and out of the forum.Ofgem cap table, Ofgem cap explainer. You latter comment see what you use when on holiday was what I was commenting on its about a constant 300 watts.. Our annual usage before panels 5100 KwH. 2 of us in a detached bungalow.
We have a date for a smart meter to be installed in a months time I have been asking EON for 4 years and getting nowhere.0 -
This is what my inverter reports my overnight power consumption to be (it's actually a bit better than I remember from last time I looked). Power-hungry devices will be the fridge and the freezer.

I think I can blame a fridge freezer and two more freezers then O and a TiVo which is like an always on old PC.0 -
Last night our 12.3 Kw battery set up went from 100% at 6pm to 11% at 0600 does that sound right?0

No unless you have a 1 kW load per hour. All depends on what you've done in those 12h?0
