Problems with iPod Touch crashing

I have a 3rd gen iPod Touch. Today, when I play music, it randomly crashes back to the main menu screen and the music stops. Its getting frustrating.

Has anyone heard of this?

try a restore (connect to itunes and select 'restore') after it has done select restore from backup (this will preserve your apps save data, contacts ect.) and resync your music back to it, that should fix it.

if it doesnt do exactly the same but select 'restore as new' this will loose your save data and contacts ect. that should then fix it.

if that even doesn't fix it, if it is under a year old it will be under warranty so apple will fix it for free.

if it isn't under warranty you can try a restore from DFU mode but try the 2 restore options above before you even consider the DFU option.

If the above doesnt work try visiting the apple store for a consultation with a "genius", i find their telephone support insufferable but the instore guys tend to be good. I had spent hours on the phone, emails back and forth and as a last resort was told to visit my local apple store to get a replacement (iphone 4) only to traipse all the way there and be told by a "genius" that the reason my apps were downloading but not showing an icon was because you can only have 11 pages of apps. you have to create folders to save space!!!

To be fair though they gave me £10 itunes credit for my trouble.

My ipod has crashed twice now and couldnt do nothing with it, so i took it back to Argos it was sent away and got a new one as it couldnt get fixed.
