Credit card faster payments

Is it fasterpayments with credit cards?

Ie wanna. Pay my Santander credit card from my lloyds tab account will it go on the same day or shall I just ring up???

Hi,

Yes, faster payments do work for credit cards. I pay my Santander CC from my Natwest Current Account and it is there within seconds. Ta da, brilliant!

the faster payment doesn't seem to always work for me.... when i paid my tesco credit card with my current account, it takes up to 4 days to show up. even though the date that showed up on the credit card statement actually says the date that i did the transfer. i would transfer it a few days in advance (min. of 3 working days) just to be save. once you know how long it takes, you have a better idea next time.

Depends on the bank, credit card company and amount. The combinations are many and the rules complex, so it's not always easy to work out. Some internet banking systems will tell you when a payment will be credited.

Maybe the best way to figure it out for your combination of card and bank is to make a small payment (£1?) via your internet banking and see how quickly it arrives? Either that or be organised enough to make your card payments in plenty of time and not have to risk late payment charges.
