The OP has gone quiet now that she has been exposed by Bamber19
yup you are absolutely right. I have been exposed. OMG whatever will I do.. maybe I dont have the option of sitting here waiting for every reply?
I have come on this forum with a genuine question but I love the way it has taken a "Im claiming racism" slant.
I have denied this but I guess if you dont want to listen to this then so be it. I really dont care
To all others who have replied in a more useful fashion, thank you very much. I do appreciate it.0 -

Why do people think you are claiming Racism?0 -
I'm currently in the States at the moment (and it's blerdy freezing here in Atlanta), and even though I have a UK passport and qualify for the ESTA program, I have a combined B1/B2 visa which I always come in on. (B1 is for business, B2 is a tourism visa).
This occasionally causes a bit of confusion both on departure in the UK, and at immigration in the US, with check in staff and US officials wondering why I have a visa. (Basically it's because I have a lot of stamps in my passport from some countries that are on the US "watch list", and I was advised by a US consulate official that a visa might save a lot of hassle when arriving here.I understood that too - ESTA is for UK to USA for a British citizen, but if that British citizen wants to go from Canada to USA they need a Visa?
That's almost correct.
If you are a citizen of a country that is eligible for the Visa waiver program, (such as the UK) then when you enter the USA from Canada you are still required to fill in the green visa waiver form and no ESTA is needed. (the waiver form is the one that was used by air travellers a short while ago).
This is providing you are entering the US by road. If you are flying in or arriving on a cruise then an ESTA is still required.0 -
I have travelled from US to Canada (Niagara Falls) and then back again on a day trip tour. On the coach were two individuals who worked on a cruise liner which had docked in the US and presumably they decided to go sightseeing.
On the journey from US > Canadian side..no problem however on the return trip when they flashed their passports, one of them had to get off and go for a long chat in the office. The result was that he needed to be issued with some visa or other and he ended up blagging a wad of cash from his travelling companion to cover it.. $$$$ kerching $$$$
From memory both were white (if thats relevant) though i have no idea what nationality.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
Why do people think you are claiming Racism?
I have no idea. No where have I said I thought it was racism. Yes I did say later on that I am Asian but like I also said my friend who looks even more asian than me had no issues so if it was racism, she should have been stopped too?
Some people want to try and stir things up Im guessing...0 -

ignore dfh - it's not constructive!
I'd definitely saying locking your suitcase was a factor. My house mate goes to the US a lot and everytime he locks his bacg they get neatly cut off again! I think plastic cable ties are an option because they don't cost you anything when they have been cut off. Or even just a peice of string?House saving Targets:

DOH! you are prob right about locking the suitcase. The only reason I did as well was habit I guess. At least I know for next time though:o0

Well-we can safely say that Immigration in the US is not racist-Does not matter what is the colour of your skin-you will all be treated equally like s h i t !!!0
-
Well, I travel to the U.S 5 or 6 times each year, and have never once had any problems with immigration officials, either entering or leaving the country.
Going anywhere with an attitude like "you will all be treated equally like s h i t !!! " certainly won't help matters, especially if you are already expecting to have trouble before you even get there.
Which airport did you have problems with druss...?0 -
