Transferring credit card debt to loan

Hi Does anyone have experience of transferring the balance of a credit card to a loan with the same company ? I had a Nationwide credit card and when the company sent out my new card (date expiry) It was cancelled . My fault I think, as it was due to me making some late repayments, I was never actually told by the company, just when I tried to use my new card it was declined, when I called to ask why they said the card had not been renewed and I could apply again when the current balance was repaid.

Anyway the repayment includeds a lot of interest and at the moment I can't afford to make more than the minimum at present ( I am working towards making more) I do not want to reapply for the card and would like to shift the balance so am thinking of asking if Nationwide would consider changing it to a loan ?

Thanks for any help or suggestions :)
