It may be the larger size is what is suppoed to fit- the boots are deliberately roomy at the toe as the idea is your toe does some graft and helps train your leg muscles, they will thus feel more roomy then other winter footwear you may have owned, they are not supposed to be snug but not supposed to have your heel slipping either, if you find the larger size don't leave your heel to slip I'd say you have the right size.

Having read some reviews this does seem to be a problem for people with high insteps but I've only read this for FF leather boots, not the mukluks. They say it gets easier as the leather does give.

I can't wear toe posts either but did get some FF sandals from Running Bare, £30.00 reduced from £60.00, a couple of months ago but I don't think they have them now. It's worth keeping an eye on the online shops as I had not seen these in the shops. There is some lace-up shoes in different colours but they're £80ish so I will wait to see if they go down in price.

I've worn my Mukluks almost all year and my bum has not got smaller but they are the most comfortable footwear I have ever had.

Thanks Elliebobs, Jenniewb and Sharlee for your advice. I finally bought a pair of short Mukluks in my size (4) and got them on by rolling the fur down so they looked like a granny slipper. £69 in the sale. Result! Had another go with the short leather boots but nada...I am hoping my bum gets smaller!

  • I have the Mukluks & they're lovely. I'm size 6 1/2 & ordered a 6 and they fit really well. Apparently they're designed to wear with thin socks or bare foot. I own quite a few pairs of Fitflops now and find the size varies with each style.
I have seen a lot of reviews from people who've struggled with the fit of the superboot in particular. Sometimes its just the style that doesn't suit your feet. Hope that makes you feel better!
  • I had the same problem with my Mukluks til I tried them without socks. Now they slip on easily. My feet are still toasty warm.

I adore Fitflops in every form and have loads of pairs- boots, clogs, trainers, toe-posts. I rarely wear any other shoes and although my bum in no smaller, my chronic backache has all but gone.:j
