NatWest forgets to order new card

My NatWest Maestro ran out on 31/12/2010 and I never realised till New Years Day.
On calling the bank a manager said a new card had not been ordered and it was a mistake on there side.
Just wondering how many other people have been effected?

You should have had your new card ages ago with the accelerated re-issue due to the visa debit change over. Im sure quiet a few people would have been affected.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
Me! My card expired at the end of Nov. I knew about this but 2 days before it passed on, I called Natwest who told me that there was nothing on the screen and therefore I wasn't getting a new card! They did order one on the spot for me that arrived within 2 days. But if I hadn't called I wouldn't have had one.
It was a Step account with a Solo card. I still have the Step account but the new card is a proper Visa Debit.0 -

Natwest have said its a blunder and other folk are effected and offered £25 without asking so will be interesting to see what I get.
I have a joint account with my wife so not a major issue, but I bet it will be for some.0 -
I make a note in my (online) diary a month before cards expire. Fingers crossed, it's worked to date.0
