I'm interested in the handheld Orb, mainly because the reviews on ebuyer make it sound like a small thermonuclear device!!

Discouraged by the £5.49 shipping fee though - seems a lot for a £10 item. Is there any way to avoid this?

It was under Free Shipping in Ebuyer a few back but i missed it. I just persuaded my mate to get one too so postage was only £2.50.

To give you an idea of the power it gives a good kick when you switch it on and it's bloody sore when you suck your cheek with it ....LOL.

It's also great for sucking up screws and makes iteasy to retrieve them unlike a bag vacuum.

    Well worth the money !!!

    DONT DO THAT!!!!!
The vaccum may generate static electricity and in turn fry your components!!! which means your pc wont switch on again!!!

Will these also be available in Netto stores?

I was under the assumption Aldi, Lidl and Netto were all owned by the same company, although I could be wrong, so wondered if they all carried the same offers. I used to get a weekly leaflet through the door with the freebie paper showing all the offers at out local Netto but they haven't been delivered for weeks now.

I haave just brought the one one ebuyer site as below:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=65977

I have weighed up the 2 options and this one seems excellent for the money! However if you do buy it, get the hover in 1 transaction, then 4 filters in a separate. This works out the best as you can still use the free p&p offered on the hover and get cheap p&p for the filters!

First off no compare with dyson, these are bag-less not cyclone.
I bought one off these with three filters worked out to £36.56, so they are a bit cheaper now.

    Prepare for hard work:)

I vacuumed a 12 x 10 room which had been vacuumed with a standard vacuum cleaner, I had to empty it and clean the filter (outside) three times the amount of cats hair that it sucked out of the carpet was unbelievable.
three other rooms, one the same size and the other two 10 x 10 required two 'clean cycles' each and the cats aren't meant ;) to go in those rooms.

In short it's useful power is directly linked to the state of the filter, so only buy one if you are prepared to clean the filter often, I always went outside and after taking off the mat of hair, tapped it against the wall till no more dust clouds appeared, then it's really powerful, the vacuum itself also needs wiping with a damp cloth as after use it is covered with a fine dust coat that has passed through both filters.

subject to the above I recommend it

  • Can I have a pic and perhaps a try of her?
  • I was under the assumption Aldi, Lidl and Netto were all owned by the same company
The stores are now owned by German investor Theo Albrecht, who owns the Aldi food chain with his brother, Karl.
Lidl is a European discounter supermarket chain of German origin. In Germany they are the most important competitor of Aldi. the correct name of the company is Lidl Stiftung & Co KG. It belongs to the Group of companies Schwarz, which also owns other important chains of stores in Germany, namely Handelshof and Kaufland.

Lidl was founded in the 1930s by a member of the Schwarz family, then called Lidl & Schwarz Lebensmittel-Sortimentsgroßhandlung. In the 1970s the first Lidl stores that were similar to what we know today opened. Lidl is the second largest supermarket chain in Germany. (2004)
Dansk Supermarked, which owns the supermarket chains Netto, Føtex and Bilka decided last year to prohibit the sale of organic fruit
No, looks like they're all separately owned, Curry Queen ;)
Thanks to all who post constructively.
