Merlin pass- latest 2nd jan 2011

As promised I did phone and I started a new thread so you will hopefully read this before the other promotion - capital fm one.
I appreciate that £5 goes to the charity on that offer.

I have just phoned and spoken to Merlin regarding renewing my pass. The guy was lovely and told me on 14th January the 50% offer- £75 from £150 (for individual) will be on. Also, if you want the upgraded pass, you can buy the voucher as normal and when you go to collect it you can ask to be upgraded and pay an extra £30.

Postage rates will apply for the original pass.

I hope that is clear.

hi - thanks so much for ringing and for posting your findings!

anyone got any advice on what would be best for me and my family to do - we have three annual merlin passes - they are not due to expire until june

can we renew at this price? on our existing or can we buy at this price and not activate them until after the time

is the £30 upgrade per person? - what does this get other than free parking and entry into london during august?

thanks a lot and happy new year to all !!
  • The 50% offer starting on Jan 14th - is that for renewals or new members?

I don't have a membership at present so just weighing up if I should go for the £80 offer or wait until the 14th and go for the half price offer.

    thanks

I believe you have 6 (or is it 3 months?) before you need to renew so you can buy them half price and renew when the date comes...as it is valid from the day of renewal (ie when you go to the venue to have a new pass issued). If you want to upgrade it is £30 per person and the perks are as you mentioned... I would say depending how many times you go it might be worth for the parking but if you renew just one pass (as it is by car) it might be ok...But i'm still trying to find out how much the parking fees will be for each venue... Happy new year too!

It is not only for renewals also for new passes as I bought mine last year on that offer... and it was my first one... If you're in London I think they are great as there are many venues... We've used ours loads...Great to entertain the kids....

  • Hi all, firstly thanks to the op for posting, does anyone know if this offer is just for individual passes or is it valid on family passes? My kids always want to go to theme parks for their birthdays so I've been thinking about getting the annual pass for a while now but at the usual price it's just too much for us. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I took this offer last year and my card expires on the 11th of Feb. Would my best option be to buy the voucher at half price again and simple get a new card after the 11th of Feb and before expire of voucher? Or will I be contacted closer to the time to see whether I want to renew, and does anybody know what the cost of a renewal would be?

If the 50% is available, then you can renew now, send in your passes to merlin, and the will add on 12 months from the end of your existing pass.

Merlin have now changed their pass prices and have new terms, so bear in mind what the right pass mix is now due to the changes. It could be worth having just 1 premium pass so you get the free parking, and the remainder as basic passes. It does depend on what parks you visit as at the moment, the car parks are different prices ranging from free upto £5 (Alton towers).

Merlin passes are new to me! Each year we join a zoo, but this may be an alternative. My daughter is 4yrs old. Do I need to buy her a pass. Would it be the same price? 2 adults + 1 child.

Also what venues do you get into with a Merlin, or have you a link? Thanks.
