Debit Card Fraud

Is there any redress if a debit card is involved in a fraudulent scam? The tel no of a hotel was hacked and card details were taken to reserve a booking and until the scam was revealed, four illeagal transactions were made.

It would depend on whether you are seen to be negligent in anyway i.e. careless with your card, pin code etc?
