When you are claiming Child Benefit your benefit will only continue to be paid for up to eight weeks when you go abroad - as long as you intend to return within a year. It can continue for 12 weeks if the absence from the UK is due to the death of a relative. (The same applies for Child Tax Credit).

The circumstances around your claim ending in June are not clear.
It may be worth contacting a local benefits adviser to see if there is any way for the ending of your previous claim/s to be looked into as it seems to have ended prematurely.

Your new Child Benefit claim can only be backdated for up to three months and then only if you were entitled for the three months prior to the claim. If you weren't present and resident in the UK for the three months prior to your new claim then you won't get it backdated. The backdating period for Child Tax Credit is 93 days prior to the claim, but again you would need to have been eligible during that period.

    Hope this helps.
