trouble to the tune of a £545 overpayment, thats all - but if they dont ask for your OHs start date, you might be in the clear, on that also
anyway, they wont take it any further, as you dont really seem a master criminal

It's not a change of circumstance that needs reporting - if one of them was already working >30 hours there is usually no need to inform TCO of the other going to work, except for income purposes and that's already been covered...0 -

the OP didnt inform HMRC that their income would be over £50k this year. when you are on auto-renew you are given a figure that you have to confirm, that your household income is still below
the disregard has no bearing on the OPs situation, its the fact they let the award renew, knowing that their household income would be over £50k
its only once you start to dig, that you find the actual story is nothing like the OPs first post, which is on what most people were basing their information. to start off by saying 'oops weve earned a bit more than we expected' when really its a case of 'weve claimed when we shouldnt' is a whole different thread

The OP said their income last year was under £50k. He has already told them their income this year is likely to be over £50k.
He has nothing done wrong, and assuming TCO act on what he's told them his tax credits should continue till the end of this year (family element only) then stop, and unless they end up earning over £75k this year there won't be an overpayment. The disregard applies to income changes between last tax year and this - and so does apply.0 -
Much as I'd like to be I ain't psychic.
As soon as I realised where our joint income was heading I told the tax credits our ESTIMATED income - it might not be as high as I forecast or it might be higher though I doubt it.0
