    That's the one I have. It's great.
  • Im interested in the maplins deluxe wake up light as the Lumie one is so expensive, but have a few questions about the maplins model...

Is the bulb replaceable? And do maplins sell the replacement bulbs?

Does it do sunset as well as sunrise?

How long does the sunrise / sunset take?

    Thanks for your help :)
  • Bought my OH the maplins one for Xmas as he'd been looking at the on and off.

Not sure about the sunset as we don't use that option. The sunrise takes about 30 min before the alarm goes off but my OH is usually nicely awake before the alarm sounds!

The bulb is replaceable. I don't know if you can get the spares from maplin or not (its halogen one) but it looks like in theory you can use a normal high watt bulb.

To be fair my OH thinks its the best alarm he's had.

  • Thanks. Just bought one from the Maplins site. Although I don't officially have SAD (I am in a constant battle with depression though) I have a light box which really helps. I have terrible trouble getting up in the mornings and I'd been toying with the idea of getting a waking light alarm box for a while but the huge prices really put me off, the Maplins one is a good price and has an FM radio and the bulb can be replaced too, for all these reasons it is worth a try to see if it can help my sleep cycle.

Also, Maplins has a paypal option too so no hunting around for my purse and typing in loooooooong card numbers.
