First home... need gas and electric HELP
Hey everyone
As you can see, im new here..
Well the reason for this thread (and visiting this site) is my boyfriend and I are due to move into our first home.. and to be honest, have no idea when it comes to getting gas and electric suppliers.. ALL help and advice would be greatly appreciated!
We live in the Sunderland area
2 Bedroom small house / flat
will be paying via direct debit
Which suppuliers do you think would suit us best?
The more ££££'s saved the better! hehe
Thanks in advance, Lea

I would go onto one of the comparison sites and put your details in and see what comes up. It is usually cheaper to have gas and electric with the same company, to have an online account and to pay by direct debit.
I'm sure others will know more than me. They'll be along soon!(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Try Ebico, they are a fair trade not for profit supplier and one of the cheapest
with just one rate for all customers regardless of payment method.

One comparison site can be found here, have your postcode ready:

Don't bother phoning, you'll just waste your time and money, both in phone calls and higher rates for energy.
Many of the cheapest tariffs for gas and electricity are only available via a comparison site. such as http://www.energyhelpline.com/cashbackmse .uScam I've never liked.
Typing in a few details on http://www.energyhelpline.com/cashbackmse is much easier than phoning around and will give you lower rates not available direct from either phoning up a supplier or going to the suppliers website.
All suppliers on the phone / in person will say they are cheaper than such and such a company, what they do is compare their monthly direct debit cheapest tariff with a competitors dearest quarterly billing pay by cheque / cash tariff. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

Have to agree. Been with and recommended Ebico to others. Very easy to set up as they keep you informed all the way. You 'might' get a little cheaper depending on where you live but you won't get any more straight forward.0 -
Oh great... We'd went to that site before and didnt know if we'd get better prices over the phone or not.
We've decided to go for Ebico, will let you know how we get on..
Thanks again!0 -

Should be a good choice!
Do a search on MSE for Ebico and you should find a lot of satisfied customers so far.0
