Would any DDR3 1600mhz ram do me then ,its just the stuff i have is the Corsair as stated above,best price i could get was £84 form overclock uk and some one was selling it on ebay for £51 but looking £25 postage which i was unwilling to pay for 2 sticks of ram,Motherboard is an Asus P53Q

Yes, it's fine to use faster memory, it will just run at the fastest speed your motherboard is compatible with (8500 in your case).Will this work as its PC3-12800 and the stuff i have is PC3-8500,will it just roll back to 8500 seeing as its higher number?

These days the faster memory is cheaper as there is little demand for the lower speeds.poppy100 -
