The agenda is the same, Carbon Tax!

Amazes me how many gullible fools actually believe them.
Might be more believable if the government weren't making so much money out of it.
Because our current financial situation isn't a good enough excuse for "them" (the people we voted for) to load up the tax burden?
Amazing how many gullible fools actually believe the ragbag of mutually contradictory stories from the sceptics.0 -

My issue is with being overly reliant on unstable governments for power, competing with more and more economies for power at a reasonable price, and our nuclear power generation capacity going backwards.
I doubt anyone would have a problem with renewables - if they worked. But wind power (the lunatic Huhne's preferred choice) is proving to be an expensive joke - the majority of our wind turbines in the UK generated precisely nothing during the recent cold spell over Christmas.0 -

Possibly so, but nothing to do with climate change.
And what do you think would happen to Britain's roads with US style fuel prices?0 -
Pretty much what happens now - but at least it would be our own fault and not the politicians.0

So where do you think the answer lies Badger and everyone else? How do we ensure long-term energy security? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? More 'simple minded' than 'simples' (God, I hate these mindless cliches). The correct answer is - don't do it at all.
Distorting the energy market is creating a recipe for utter chaos in the UK. Just wait until you switch on the lights and nothing happens. Not long now.
Just like the 70s then. Over reliance on an unreliable fuel source. We've only kept the lights on by fighting two wars (so far). I'd prefer a few carbon taxes to more wars.
The energy market is distorted anyway by the temporary availability of cheap fossil fuels. Isn't it better to try and ration them to make them last longer for the things they are best for? It's much easier to use wind power for your lights than flying.0 -
There. Compliment returned. Your sentence now makes sense.
It would do if you had any evidence at all for it.
But you haven't, the evidence fits the theory, that's why every major world scientific institution backs the IPCC and why you can't show us where you think the IPCC are wrong.0 -

A mixed, market-led balance. The only answer that can possibly work. 'Energy security' is one of the cultists' scare-stories. They'll use any excuse to raise money for their international redistribution schemes.0
