    Have you booked your holiday yet? If not and you are doing a package then ensure that the holiday firm is ABTA bonded so at least you will have protection if the travel company fails.

    As mentioned a credit card does give you extra protection but you must be happy that you will be regimented enough to ensure it is paid off quickly (unless it is a 0% offer and then you must pay off within the time).

    Credit cards can be a good thing if they are used properly and paid off on time. If you are the type of person that has money in the bank because you have cheques in your cheque book, then it is probably not such a good idea!
