I am considering buying a netbook but would need to load Office 2010 onto it. How would I do this if it doesn't have a cd/dvd drive?

Do you really need Outlook, or just a POP3/IMAP mail client? If a mail client, download and install Thunderbird (free).0

Actually I meant Office 2010, don't know why I typed Outlook. Senior moment!0

I have a netbook and I installed all my Windows programs by buying an external CD drive, which can be plugged into a USB port. They're about £100 to buy or if you know someone who already has one it might be cheaper to ask if you can borrow it if you're not likely to use it frequently.Thank you competition posters!

Or copy from the CD/DVD to a USB stick and use that. I used that method to install Windows 7 and Office 2007 on to my netbook. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

If you have another computer with a DVD drive on then you can create an iso image of your office installation disc onto your hard drive using something like:
http://www.imgburn.com/
Pop this iso file onto a USB flash drive and move it to your netbook (or move it there using your network) when you can then mount it onto a virtual drive like:
http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-clonedrive.html
and you are done.
Doing it this way will also be useful as you can also repeat the process in the future to install various software or play DVDs or CDs on your 'driveless' netbook.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0 -
just download it at http://www.microsoft.com/office/downloads/
