Ideas for Low Maintenance Garden

Hi All,

I live in a one bed flat with a 50ft garden. Half of the garden near the kitchen has decking and the other half is grass. I want to make it as low maintenance as posisble. Does anyone have any low maintenace garden ideas. I was thinking of maybe paving it and doing something with pebbles but i am not to sure. Any ideas/expereinces most welcome.
KInd Regards
Yasmin

Paving is being frowned upon more and more by authorities (its increasing flood risk taking away areas for rain to naturally soak away through). Lawn chamomile is expensive to lay in turf, but needs next to nothing done t it I understand...no mowing or anything.

    Hi All,
Thanks for your feedback. I know this sounds really lazy i am just not green fingered at all!! I hate lawn mowers i did not relasie that paving is been frowned upon now by many local authorites. I like the idea of extending the decking but then i guess i would need to kill the grass somehow before i actually lay new decking? (sorry i know nothing about garderning). Anyone have any other ideas for low maintenace?
    Thanks so much in advnace

The boom in paving has caused rain that would normally be soaked up by the ground to run off to the drains increasing the chances of overloading them. All paving now has to have regular holes in it.

Weedkiller plus covering with a waterproof membrane should do the job

Its slightly ironic that you are posting on this forum, many here would kill for extra growing space lol. I think I`ll go on a veggie forum and ask for a recipe for the perfect sirloin steak :)
