Car towed for wrong permit

I had a car accident on the 5th Dec. and got a hire vehicle via my insurance company. I normally use a resident permit to park on the roads and got a temporary permit for the hire car but that expired on the 23rd. Turns out the permits office is closed from 24th Dec to 04 Jan and the proof I got from the garage that they have my car was too late.
The block where I live was sold to the housing association. Outside our house, there is a huge car park previously owned by the council. Because the permits office was closed, I decided to some council issued visitor permits until they open. What I didn't know was the visitor bays in the car park needed visitor permits from the housing association (I didn't know the entire car park had been sold).
On the 30th, my car was towed to a storage place in Edmonton (E.L.V Solutions). The charge was £260 (:() and I coughed up the same day to avoid the £25 storage fee they charge daily.
The ticket was issued by the Car Parking Partnership and the £260 breaks down as follows: £60 ticket, £170 + £29 VAT removal cost.
I would like to fight this and get a refund. I've been following the guide here: hxxp://moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/private-parking-tickets (I can't post links) and am wondering what other advice people can give me. I'll also to writing to the housing association to complain about the enforcers they use.
Thanks

Your next thing to do is to go to pepipoo.com. Make copies of all sides of all paperwork and post there. At a guess is this tower scamlets.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Thanks and yes, this is tower hamlets but the car was on housing association land (didn't know at the time)0 -
Unless they have changed things they have a gaping hole on the back of their tickets as well as other problems. I have seen a few of these TH ones returned so all is definitely not lost. Good Luck.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

They'll tell you to sue not only the clamper but it's an absolute must to also name the agents/landowner/housing association (whoever contracted those clamping gits). Get your money back like others have done for this daylight robbery.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
