We've had a reasonable money making day, we sold our car seat and isofix base for £80. A friend of MrZ is due her second child and has bought a double buggy which her first car seat isn't compatable with so she was looking for one like ours and as they know us they trust it hasn't been in an accident. We probably could have got more for it, but when it's too friends it's nice to do a discount so everyone's happy.

We've spent the day out at furniture and electical shops looking for a corner sofa and a range cooker. I think we're settled on a sofa from John Lewis and it's their own make so I don't think we can look to get it any cheaper anywhere else, also can't see cash back at all for John Lewis or discount codes. The only thing I need to look into is KidStart, which sounds like they pay cash back into a child's savings, but haven't heard of this before so need to do a bit of research.

The range cooker is sold all over so do need to see if I can find a better deal online, which I've no doubt will be possible, it's £999 in the shops, so I want to get it for at least under £900.

Other than that we've been packing, packing and packing. I've lost motivation for it, we're running out of room where to store everything now. I've got Tuesday off work this week and the idea of spending the day in the house with MissZ, who has been unpacking my packing and putting anything she can put her hands on into my packing, is not appealing, so am trying to find things to do for the whole day, fingers crossed for good weather!

Tough day at work today, I'm only in 2.5 days this week, which makes managing my team a bit harder, and with tax return deadline creeping up, we've a lot to do. Had all sorts of problems on a job I'd hoped I would finish today and my boss was due to review tomorrow so couldn't get that done. Luckily when I phoned him he was fine with it not being done, which was a relief.

Just done some more packing - am so losing motivation. MrZ keeps wandering around a bit lost as he doesn't know where to start - I wish he'd just get on with doing something, unfair I know as I'm just sitting here under the guise of 'financial research'!
  • Motivation can be really hard to find sometimes, especially with the weather... Dig deep and keep going. Maybe take a refresher break for something that recharges the batteries?

Thanks SSS. I took a break - a long one, and went to sleep! This morning has been much better, I have even managed to get on with jobs I would normally leave to MrZ, such as taking down lampshades and shelving. I have also been out to the post office to post two ebay parcels, my sister's b'day present and an old ipod that I'm sending to Mopay - it's only worth £3 now - it's crazy how fast technology moves!

MissZ is finally realising something is up. Last night after her bath I showed her the book I was going to read, she didn't want that one, so went over to her bookcase and it was bare as I'd packed everything else away, cue lots of tears, I could see her scanning the room and realising it was all different. She woke 5 times in the night after that, when we'd had about 7 days of her sleeping straight through, poor little love. But I keep telling her we'll be really near nursery and the park which she seems to like the sound of - but who knows how much she actually understands!

Bless her, change is so scary for them when they're young. She'll adapt quickly I'm sure when you've moved. Hope the packing is going ok, I hate packing.

Thanks Yukkibear. I'm sure she'll be fine, she's pretty adaptable, it's just when you start thinking about it.

Packing is going well. MrZ has just gone to pack up the shed in the dark, he was going to do it tomorrow pm as he has the afternoon off, but as he'll have MissZ I didn't think it would be a good idea as there are so many tools and dangerous bits that MissZ would instantly be attacted to!

Off to do a few more surveys, then a bath, I've had major stresses with incompetent solicitors today, hopefully we'll solve it easily tomorrow, but some basic manners from them by updating me wouldn't have gone amiss.

Well, it's M day tomorrow - could have done with out being in work until 7.30 but at least it has meant I can have the day off tomorrow without being interupted.

The solicitors have sorted their problems out from yesterday, which is a relief. The also told me I was due £1,200 back from them as they had misscalculated the figures, I'm a bit annoyed about this, but looking forward to the cheque, it felt like we were paying over too much but I couldn't pin point where.

We have also just gone to the house opposite to ask for our cat back. We have two cats, when MissZ was born one of them slowly moved out and for the last year has only popped back a few times and as soon as he sees MissZ scarpers. We were under two minds what to do, whether to leave him, the people he is with would have been happy with that or take him. I just couldn't leave him, he is such a lovely cat and I'm hoping now MissZ is older she wont scare him as much. She isn't rough with him or anything, she just cried a lot as a baby and he sought refuge, hopefully it will work out.
