Why pay the energy suppliers more than you have to ?

I suppose it is too much to ask that if you pay your energy bills by quarterly direct debit you still qualify for the DD discount??0

I phoned them and they agreed to reduce it. I've just had £45 taken from my account. I've cancelled the DD again. See what happens next. I think I'm going to write to them since I'll end up paying a few pounds on phone calls otherwise.
BG are notorious for this, they do it to me on a regular basis even when I am massively in credit.
I pay for Gas Quarterly as I am with Ebico and thats great but to qualify for BG Click Energy you have to use monthly DD so its no an option to pay an other way.
BG always claim its an automatic computer system which raises my DD each month, bloody dumb computer then considering they always want to try and take £10 more than I actually use a month. I am religious about entering readings each month too so they cannot claim the "estimated bill" card.
Useless.Once they start putting up Click Energy and its not competative I will be off like a shot.
