curtain tracks for bay window

I have a bay window like this: \_____/
It currently has blinds in it but once the double glazing is installed, I would like curtains instead.
If the curtain track is parallel with the window, you end up with a visible gap between the window and curtain at the edge of the bay window, through which light and draughts will filter - I think this gap can be avoided if you take the curtains further round the end of the bay onto the main wall (if you understand what I mean), like this:
_ _ (edit - can't get the spaces to remain inserted!)
\___/
I'm hoping others can answer:
1. whether this is a feasible solution to the visible gap?
2. if so, whether the plastic white curtain tracks & fittings are OK for this 'bend'?
3. if so, are plastic tracks & fittings all much of a muchness or are there particular things I should look for?
Thanks

Yes you can do this. My sister had the same problem and her curtain track comes out slightly on to the main wall and avoids the gap that you are concerned about. No idea what curtain track she used or where she got it from.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

We had this problem. The plastic curtain track becomes quite flexible when it's warmed up. We used hot water to soften it and then put a bend in it so that it comes around the corner for about 3".0

Or try to find an alloy curtain track, they will bend more easily and retain their new shape.0

Thanks, all. Guess what I'm off to buy this afternoon in the sales and pre-VAT rise! Not sure I've seen alloy ones, might do a little googling first then ...0

my two bays are identical to yours.
ive used velcro to stick the ends around the corner. works ok too.Get some gorm.0 -
We had the bent plastic track solution at our old house - it drove me round the bend coming off and pinging out at random intervals. We've now got a proper bended bay curtain pole and the difference, even with the gap you're worried about is brilliant (we just tuck the curtain round the corner to keep the gap bit covered.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

Our bay is the same, our curtains go round the little corner and are attached by a hook.0

My bay window is exactly the same as your's and I bought a plastic bendable curtain track and took is round on to the main walls to stop a gap occuring. It was a Fineline curain track and comes with the tools needed for the bending bit. Search on line as I managed to get it much cheaper than in some 'popular' curtain stores. It was quite tricky fixing it to the ceiling and keeping the distnace equal but it looks fab.

That's so useful, thanks all. I have bought three pairs of curtains (for two different windows ... one set will go back!) and will research the curtain track properly (they weren't in the sale so no immediate pressure).
@themull1, I can't quite visualise the hook - does the curtain track stop at the edge of the bay and the curtain just hooks round the corner on its own, or does your track go round the 90 degree corner onto the main wall itself?0
