Speak for yourself - I'm so organised I did it days ago :A:o;).

If anything am feeling worse this morning so am sat in bed with tea, tissues, book and MSE.

I only got home last night. The Christmas chocs were gone before NY thanks to spending almost a week holed up in hisselfs room on camp. :o

    Hope you're feeling better soon.

Does anyone have a link to the big read lists? I did start working through the 100 book one a year or so back but got as far as crossing off the ones I'd already read but have no idea what I did with the list.
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

HERE you go - link to Top 100. It also has a link to the top 200 so off to read it in the vain hope I have actually read all 101-200 :rotfl:

EDIT - pants website. It has been updated so some on the Top 100 are also in 101-200. HERE is the good old WIKI list - off to count it.

EDIT #2 - read a total of 42, but a lot are children's books & don't think I'll be starting to read Jacqueline Wilson now so will stick with my original 100.

i actually really enjoyed going back and re-reading some of my childhood favourites such as the roald dahl books, charlotte's webb and goodnight mr tom (the latter ALWAYS makes me cry, and I've lost track how many times I've read it). I'm also looking forward to finishing the harry potter series at some point, and have heard positive things about the narnia series and the his dark materials range.

im sure it would make a refreshing change to have something so light after ploughing through moby !!!!!!!

:doh:Doh! Note to self - pick a less obvious title for diary next time so TPA doesn't track me down ;).

Thanks for the penny, every little helps :) That's be 121,226.66 now (eek 121,226.66 )

Not so much ploughing through it as em......... ignoring it & hoping it reads itself :o. I don't actually know where it is at the mo (but I suspect it's in the magazine rack about 4ft away as I can feel it pulling on my guilt strings :rotfl:)

So, have decluttered a bit more........ decluttered myself by removing all unwanted hair and nails :rotfl:. Also used last bath bomb, body lotion, special foot softener cream and painted toenails bright pink :D. Used posh shampoo, conditioner and hair mousse so have had a little pampering session :). Still feel like poo but at least will look better lying in state ;).

Have abandoned any thoughts of going to work tomorrow. I'm not even up to driving there let alone working and don't even feel well enough to work from home at the mo. Am ok till I do anything that involves standing up, or using brain cells :o.

Now pampering myself by cooking a jacket potato from scratch in the oven rather than microwave so the skin will be nice and crispy :)

Loved "Emma" and "Rebecca" and the Narnia stories. Just read "Skippy Dies" which is pretty good and love the Stieg Larsson trilogy (girl with a dragon tattoo et.c.).

I've just got the Stieg Larsson trilogy for Christmas and have just unpacked 3 carrier bags of books from my mum and dads, so no idea what type of books they are

  • They are sort of murder-mystery-thrillers not for the fainthearted, very well and intelligently written. Sadly there will be no more since he died shortly after submitting the manuscripts.

and if you even remotely like the millennium trilogy, do yourself a favour and steer well clear of the films
