    So, spendy day here .

Bumped into DS so went for a cuppa (at least he didn't sting me for cake :D).

Persuaded Mr GG to go out tomorrow to an exhibition I want to see and he doesn't (but will enjoy when we get there. Though it will hurt him to admit it :rotfl:). Free entry but will cost me a trainfare and I'll buy lunch to keep him sweet :D.

Then I found a break on Voyage Prive for my birthday weekend . Tempted Mr GG by offering him some cheese for his lunchtime spud (Ed - not a euphemism :rotfl:). Didn't book that break in the end as flights and accomm didn't tie up but have booked a lovely apartment in Venice for end of August :T. Really looking forward to it & have done well as Mr GG countered my suggestion with an offer of a train to Scotland :rotfl:.

Mr GG found it a quite enjoyable 20 minutes - trouble is we where there for an hour :rotfl:.

Then we had a walk around - it was in a city close to us which we go to from time to time but only to a few set places. Wandered off the main street and found lots of old buildings we'd never seen before. A lot of history there which doesn't seem to be exploited. Plus I found a Fenwicks I didn't know was there :D. Fair to say I enjoyed the day more than Mr GG - especially as he forked out for a new paid of sandals for himself. This was a BIG event .

Hoping it may brighten up later so I can cut the grass - I spread a little weed & feed a few weeks ago - didn't have enough to do all. Let's just say - it worked :eek::eek:, grass where I spread it is about 6" long :rotfl:.

Money shuffle complete :T. Bored now :rotfl:.

  • Belated very best wishes as I am behind with diaries. Really pleased to see you are seizing the day with your own plans.

Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

    .

Hmmmm ..... poetic licence again GG!! I'd struggle to say I found it quite enjoyable for 5 mins. Must have been the smile on my face that fooled you.

Of course I got a semblance of satisfaction buying the sandals as you nearly lost the will to carry on which highly amused me ;)

As for you allegedly offering to pay for lunch - the bribe - I note no mention on the day.

Have to agree with you about the city history - talk about keeping things under wraps. So much more that should, and could, be exploited.

Interesting catch up on your diary btw as it's been weeks since I've had a look. You would have enjoyed the train trip to Scotland but Venice it is. I'll let you know how the former goes :D

    Hello Mr GG :hello:

Liar liar pants on fire - who bought the drinks? And it would have been pretty impressive if you had bought dinner seeing as how you'd abandoned me by then :rotfl:. It would have been lunch if you hadn't insisted on us having such a massive brekkie :naughty:.
