Need a lie-down after all that :rotfl:. Just to provide some balance, it's freezing, drizzling and shower has broken :(.

Been spending a lot of time studying pension funds. Work pension has fairly low number of funds to choose from, around 60. Been through THEM ALL , and happy to conclude I have just about the best 2, so not changing those. SIPP a bit more complex as with HL so literally 1,000's of funds to choose from. Have sold one which was not performing great, had done same with another a few days ago, and chosen 3 new ones, including one which has just been launched, so bit of a leap of faith . It's investing in Kenya, Nigeria, Vietnam, and anothers are in Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia etc so not much chance of anything going wrong there :eek::eek:.

All the books I've been reading recently and also blogs etc have made me have a big rethink. In particular RDPD2, which talks about a type of saver who cuts coupons out to save pennies but doesn't take care of their investments. Oops :o. I haven't neglected my pension but could certainly have taken more of an interest in it so investing in higher risk funds will force my hand and make me be more closely involved. However, I am NOT going to the RDPD seminar (thanks US :D) as I think it will confuse me more - with only hopefully 3 years to go till I finish work I'd prefer to stay on my chosen path.

In other matters, amidst all the bigger picture stuff, TillyTidy of 85p done :rotfl:. And twigs have arrived :T.

  • I feel quite tired now.

Good news on the £ reduction to Mr GG.

It's an interesting book to read and I've learnt a lot about me.

It has used me to re-evaluate my pension but also helped me to find some peace if that makes sense. The decluttering I've done recently, decisions to buy less but good, realisation of how extremely fortunate we are, plus knowledge that we can both retire in 5 years is amazing. Thanks for all the book recommendations. I hadn't realised there was a seminar but don't think I could have coped with anything else :)

Have a good day, Tilly x
