    Matalan is open.

    Last new years day they were open and had marked all thier sale items to more than 75% off. I got a lovely toy for 50p, was £15! Also got cothes, which went down further in price once i got to the till.

    I think this is certain stores as i know the Morrisons near me is closed and Lidls are closed too.

    B&Q are open !, just got a nice 6ft Christmas tree (slimline) for £3.00, we will put it outside next year with lights on !, I know it will rust but for the price I may get a couple of years out of it !!..

    yes i think the smaller ones are probably mostly closed, as is my local Tesco and Morrisons, but i know near me the Tesco home plus in the big retail park near the mall, Bristol is open today. I think if you check their respective websites they tell you if the store near you is open today?
