Hi Elli! Taxi is *dreadful* for that, isn't she! But I've been over to her thread this morning, and she's full of beans - online, anyway.

    **wags finger at Taxi**

Nearly all the paperwork now been found :j except for two quarterly mortgage statements - which I don't *think* have been sent, because I always remember not having them :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I've also been able to declutter a tiny bit, as I found some statements from 2009 that I thought I'd lost, and had photocopied :o so my shredder will be at work, and I might as well do a shredder lot thats for the garden, as well as one thats eventually for the tip (shiny paper, coloured ink).

And I have time for a cup of tea before paid work :coffee:

Enjoy the cuppa but get that back up done. You have done so much scanning and shredding of the paperwork it would be a nightmare if you lost it all.

I have a diary set so I get a pop up reminder each Sunday to do mine. Once it is plugged in it only takes 10 minutes to do it by itself.

You're right .... I'm going to make a second cup of coffee :j:j:j so I'll put the kettle on for that, and set it up while brewing my mysterious magicks, a.k.a. coffee.

    BACK UP THAT COMPUTER!!!

Seriously - I have lost majorly twice now by not backing up and finally I got the message to do it! I use a Mac so have Time Machine running which does an auto back up every hour - but at least upload copies of important stuff to somewhere like Dropbox - ideally also onto a back up drive (though have had them fail too - so dropbox is great as a double backup for the really critical stuff).

    So - do it - please! ;)

I'm updating the backup as we speak!

Also, I just saw some blue tits perching on an open window - one of the little windows at the top of a frame, and thought how cute it looked ... then I realised that if they're doing that, they're hungry, so went down to sort out the peanut feeder, which is now reinstated.

With backup, I know this might sound paranoid, but I'm also going to get a little flash drive, maybe 4GB, and back up all my genealogy information to that - even backing up to an external hard drive, which is what I do, won't save it if there's a fire. Although I've just seen that dropbox do 2GB free, so that might be a handy backup for the genealogy too ...

It wasn't a good day yesterday. Not only did I have a second cup of coffee, I had chips and a bar of chocolate for "lunch", then a couple of glasses of wine, then another bar of chocolate, and I finished off breakfast this morning with another, smaller bar ... The day felt like a real waste, tho I did manage to do maybe 15 minutes on the accounts - between being threatened with a campaign against me, and extreme !!!!!iness in the counselling organisation I volunteer with, I'm not a happy bunny. The only good thing about yesterday is that I can pop in to a local chemist for a flu jab without an appointment.

Hey ho. Worse things happen at sea, much worse. I must think back to the Cold Antler Farm blog, how beautiful it is. Pippi's too, come to that.

If it isn't, I'm running away and joining the circus, before I eat any more chocolate! Thanks for the hug :) :kisses3:

Blimey KC, what a rotten day! You ate about as much chocolate as me yesterday :D Poor thing. And how dare they start a campaign against you! What fools. Hope today is indeed better (although running away and joining the circus is always appealing! :D)
