Morning Karma, did you see the eclipse? We went out a couple of times but it was too cloudy, boo!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Thank you! Its not bad at all - near enough to my old location, and much nearer for my London people, I really think it works. Erm, no paid work today tho :rotfl: I planned it that way, honestly - there's 3.5 hours tomorrow. So at the moment, I'm working on my trading - I have a Cunning Plan for 9.45, after a foreign exchange-affecting announcement just now at 9.30 - I've noticed something that happens each time an announcement of this sort is made (very regularly) and its kind of predictable. We'll see.
I am also dischuffed (thank you for another new word, Tricia xxx) at not seeing the eclipse! Very frustrating here - there were actually patches of blue sky all over the place, as well as storm clouds, but none of the blue patches (not enough to make a pair of sailors' pants, as my nan would have said) were in the right place. Ended up chatting to a disabled neighbour giving her dog some fresh air - and what do you know, she had an astronomy telescope in the house herself!
Gill, I think it can still be a real occasion even if you live somewhere - a couple of times, I've gone down the road to cheer on one of the national bike rides - on one memorable occasion, it was actually the Tour de FranceI hope you'll enjoy it too.
Otherwise, I'd quite like to do something in the garden, but it keeps throwing it downI'd quite like to start widening the sunny border, half bury a drawer with its bottom knocked out  (from an old chest of drawers :rotfl:) and plant my mint in it, I think it would work really well. Except if I get drenched with the sudden downpours that keep happening :rotfl:And this afternoon, I'm doing *lots* of errands in my little town, including buying floor coverings for the living room and the hallway - finally :j:j:j

Ahhh a cunning plan - sounds exciting!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Bother! It isn't happening. These are notes for me:
- the setup at 9.30 was too abrupt.
- it was pretty near a *huge* support/resistance line.
Ah well, there was one other occasion I looked at where it didn't work - I'd better do some proper research ... I feel a spreadsheet coming on...2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Repeat after me, or alternatively wait for a minute while I write this down 100 times: I am acting like a completely dozy widget, who doesn't trust the brains she was born with, and my job right now is to *stop* being such a widget, take my finger out of my ear, and Make The Money. 10am, just after the above post, was a beautiful signal, clear as glass, and it would've made me a very nice 29 points - half again as much as my daily target - in a fraction over half an hour. Which, at my planned rate of £10 a point, would've meant an extra £290 in the account.
I was so annoyed with myself that I couldn't come on here - instead, when I walked into town to do my errands, I used a leisurevoucher from toluna that I've been sitting on, and bought a book at Waterstone's entitled "Risk - the science and politics of fear" by a guy called Dan Gardner, I'd been freeloading it a little bit and liked the look of it. I'm not sure if its fear or confidence in this area for me thats the issue, but I certainly have to do something before I go beg for a shelf filling job at Sainsbo
Errands .... well, can't change my name over the phone at the Santander branch, they have to send me a form to my previous address, which will get redirected to me. Not going to buy the floor covering yet, as I pushed for a reduction and there was a hint of one next week. Got my mitts on the bargains listed in Martin's newsletter yesterday at the Coop - 18 toilet rolls for £6 :rotfl: and half price Tetley tea. Bought some cheap choccy too, and they tried to charge me for two - I checked the receipt before I left the store thoWe all pretended that the shop assistant wasn't skimming off the top, and I got my money back
Like on Cheri's thread re Asda, Julian Graves are a bunch of toerags - last month, walnuts were £4, reduced to £3.50. Now its buy one at £6, get the 2nd half price. What the dickens has happened to the walnut crop? They're essential foods anti-arthritis, so I won't be stopping them, but ouch
Having said that, I need more chocolate :j:j:j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Oh KC, I havent heard toerags for ages. Fair made me laugh out loud Thanks for that.
The book sounds good too. £290 in 10 minutes - did I understand that right? Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
We like laughing
The £290 would have been made in about half an hour - at the moment, I'm using £1 a point, which would only have made £29 - but how much you make depends on how much you use per point, so £1 a point makes £29, £10 a point makes £290. £50 a point makes £14,500, come to that, but you have to have about twenty grand in your account to do that _pale_
The saying "much makes more" becomes applicable in this situation :rotfl:
It makes me think of that WWII poem "Naming of Parts" - linkie http://www.solearabiantree.net/namingofparts/namingofparts.html
Today - 3.5 hours paid work, half and half between daytime and evening; w/m and dishywishy to do their thing; preparing for the weekend, basicallyplus trying to clear more paperwork, to prep the living room for the new flooring. Thats the last big job, I swear it! I will have a life :j:j:j

Hiya, I probably worded it badly, but what I meant was, its easy for me to go, whereas the rest of you have to organise a bit. I normally go and see my brother run if its reasonably local - Edinburgh was a bit far!
Pants to the trading thing yesterday. Is that because you weren't watching or you didn't have the confidence? It will happen for you, you've put enough effort in, its just a case of getting your head (and your @r$e) into gear.
Agree about the pricing, although Mr M seem to be immune to it, but then they do the loss leader thing on fresh stuff where they reduce it to silly prices like 50p.
Even shelf stackers in supermarkets have to do the silly 'team building' interview these days, which would really put me off.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

I did get the wrong end of the stick then, sorry :kisses3:
The trading thing was cos I didn't have the confidence - I was watching it, there was a tiny little thing that meant it would waver, and that was enough, I lost whatever confidence I had. Grrrrrrrrrrr.
Oh my word tho ..... a teambuilding interview for a shelf stacking job ... okay, if that doesn't motivate me to change things, then I swear I'm going to do something weird to rake the money in .... wasn't Wayne Rooney paying a woman in her mid 50s £500 a go or something :rotfl::eek::rotfl::eek::rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
