  • I feel the same as you hon. We just paid out £560 for 4 new tyres and tracking for DHs car, £260 for having a tow bar fitted, £100 for a 2nd set of wheels for winter which now need winter tyres apparently, and car insurance is nearly double what it was last year (was £285 and now £542 - cheapest online comparison quote was £750 )

We are only just doing it, but I have overpaid a fair bit recently. I'm just trying to have everything else cheap but it is tricky as the kids have needed a few new bits for the hols we are on next week.

I just don't like parting with cash. It's mine!!!

Finally done the maths to August 2011. Mortgage minus savings currently stands at £11,366.43...it would be nice to get in 'single figures' by next month, but not really possible! I would be happy to get there by 1st October though - hmm, really must stop spending then!
My wages have taken a huge hit lately, no weekend work and virtually no mystery shopping, to allow me time with Mum. (She is more than worth it though:))

This weekend Mum has been allowed home from the hospital for three nights, she is constantly on the go and has worn me out! I have been staying at her house so she is not on her own (as this is not allowed at the moment). She is doing brilliantly, this morning she bought me a cup of tea in bed, it was really sweet, however I don't normally see 07:15:eek::rotfl:especially on a Sunday!

Just wanted to make a copy of our current monthly outgoings:

    12.43 TV Licence
    18.00 Phone line and calls
15.00 Bank account fee (covers our travel insurance, gadgets & RAC so worth it)
    22.00 Gas
    24.00 Electric
    12.42 Dog Insurance
    8.50 Internet
    252.63 Mortgage repayment
161.15 B&Q Interest free kitchen payment
39.50 Water - underpaid this year so just gone up from 20.50:eek:
    10.27 Life Insurance
    33.75 Sky:o
    100.32 Toll fees for bridge
132.00 Council Tax Paid over 12 months, better in my pocket than theirs!
    15.00 Mobile phone
    20.00 Professional Fees
    TBC** Building and Contents Insurance

I realise this is a very basic outgoings list, I need to work out what on average we pay out on diesel, insurance, tax, servicing etc. Also I really have no clue what we spend on food...in fact I dread to think how much this comes to per month:eek: (Thats not to mention wine:o)

Off to find my CC log in to give me a better idea what se have spent on these things over the last 3 months.

  • I have made a start on working out how much diesel/food costs us per month...I have printed out our CC statements, circled the appropriate spends....but, I cannot add them up as I cannot find a calculator!:p

I have one in work so will borrow it tomorrow!

Mum is coming home again for the weekend:jI am preparing to be worn out with all her shopping! Money burns a hole in her pocket!!

I have a confession..I spent the bag money on a pair of fitflops! Got them from boots, £15 off, 10% cashback and £4.80 worth of boots points, total cost £26.67..ops! They were originally £50 and they are black and sparkly!

Found a calculator...theres far too many figures to use the one on the laptop! But....I have been using said calculator for adding up my Mystery Shop tax return:A I have a horrible feeling I earnt more than anticipted in 2010/2011:eek:.

With Mum again this weekend, things not going quite as smoothly as last weekend, not really sure whats going on, other than my expectations being too high after the fabulous few days we had last week:(

I am exhausted, Mum is currently asleep on the sofa with the dog on her lap, they both look angelic:).

Went shopping to Costco earlier, forgot my debit card (was at home in the card reader:eek:) Mum had to pay...I was very embaressed:o

I now have enough toilet rolls to last for months:rotfl:
