£100 for me today (should have been £200 but life swallowed up £100 before I knew it - grrrr)

I wish. I've had to fork out over £2.5k in recent weeks that's over and above my norm. Very little of it was avoidable. Most of it was on credit too.
On a brighter note, I do owe £15k less than I did at the start of 2009 so it's two steps forward, one back. My debt repayments aren't pretty but when you're self-employed, it's necessary to re-tool sometimes. Most of the outlay will help me to continue working or in some cases, to be able to work more quickly (earn more) and/or more comfortably (less wear and tear on my body).

I do have a very small pension pot that I think I may be able to access next year when I'm 55. It's too little to matter as far as a pension goes but it might be something I can reduce my debts with a bit. It will leave me pensionless but once I get my other debts sorted out, I should be mortgaage free by 65. That leaves an option of selling my flat to a bank in exchange for an income + state pension (I have no-one to leave it to). There would also be an option of building my business beyond sole trader level and having an income with little directwork input OR building it up and selling the business.
Because I would have to borrow to build if I did it now, I would rather leave it a few years.
A few people have opened my eyes to what may be possible in the years to come if I work it right (not people who would stand to make money from me either.)
It's bizarre but I always feel more entrepeneurial when the economy is crap. Probably just trying to use my head to fend off reality :D
Need to get through the next 5 years relatively unscathed first.
