Am I best to save the little amounts over a period of say a week and then pay a bill, or should I pay the little amounts immediately to a bill. It would be great to hear your thoughts.
Like Silaqui said, it depends on the debt in question and your own own preferences. Personally, I quite like to pay my Cap it Alone credit card, in little payments on their website using my debit card.
It's just part of my odd sense of humour, as I guess they'll probably be paying a flat fee per transaction. (My business gets charged about 20p flat fee for each debit card transaction) so I figure if I pay £1 or £2 at a time it costs them more :T
Lets call it pay-back for all the times they charged me overdue fees, over limit fees etc when times were really tough...I myself am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions...0 -
Hey
PAD £4.92 (£3.02 to Santander to bring it under £300 so it now stands at £299.98£1.00 to RBS CC1 and 90p to RBS CC2 figure i should concentrate on these two as they are the highest interest... althought i'll probably change my mind 2moro)
Buddiebabe xDEBT OUTSTANDING 23.04.17 £16802.970 -
First PADs yesterday :j
Finished work early for a hospital appt meaning I was (unusually) near a branch of Barclays in the afternoon.
Barclaycard, normal payment day, I paid the usual £200 by direct debit...
PLUS £40.00 from pound coins saved in my jar which I paid to B/Card at the Barclays branch.
When I got home, still on a roll, I then made mid-month payments of £32.16 to CapitalOne and £15.00 to Egg, to round the balances down.
Yesterday's total PAD £87.16
Will save coins and overtime all week and make extra payments again next Friday. Or doesn't that count... PAW rather than PAD?0 -

I was thinking about this and must check the T&C - with Egg and CapOne I'm paying off at 16.9% and both cards have been suspended, simply because I rejected their proposed hike in interest rates early in 2009. I'm wondering now if there's any penalty for paying more than the minimum, especially in frequent little amounts?
It suits me better to aim for PAW (payment a week) but could do PAD with a little organisation!0 -

Mind you they are charging me 24% interest as it is:mad: I am on target (thanks to padding) to totally clear this by October, if not before. For the past 10 years i have only been paying min payments and normally maxing it out when i needed to so i can't thank this thread enough that i have even got it below 2k - hth:)Payment A Day £15 (started 17/5/14) :j0
