As an atheist I have found it difficult to hold my tongue at times when reading the thread, but because online arguments about religion usually turn savage, I've held back. In fact, Erme, I have thanked you for some posts. I haven't chosen to thank you for others. I'm afraid I won't be apologising for that and will continue to choose for myself.

    What you said.

No you don't lose stars redglass. I didn't post for some years and it had no effect. Maybe yours are now in the heavens!:rotfl:

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Or maybe I had too much of my mate's homebrew and was seeing stars?
    ^ ^ What you said.

    Er...what is ^ ^ ?

  • oh dear - I went out last night (I don't go out often at all) so I spent £27 on drinks and £7 on a film then £6 on a paper and 2 bottles of beer to make it all feel a bit better today and I bought a takeaway £23. That is one blown budget!

    Hi all

Havent posted on here for a while but have been following the thread and keeping up with how everyone has been doing.

Having read Redglass's post, i agree that we should just leave it at not pushing the thanks button to those posts that we may not agree with.
I realise this now and so hope i am still welcome on the thread.

Have just got back from a lovely break to centre parcs, really chuffed as managed to stick to our spending money budget and actually spent £50 less so this can go into savings.

Have had a look at Wheezl's (have i got the name right?) website and the recipes and meal planner are truely amazing, healthy well balanced meals at a fraction of the cost.
This will be a great help as i really need to cut my grocery bill down again if i want to build up our savings (when i started on this thread it was 75 down from 100 per week) now i would like to keep it below 60 per week.
I'm still buying nappies, wipes and other baby bits so this does bump the cost up a bit, even so i am determined to spend less on food and still eat well.

My OH is now lift sharing, which is great as its saves us around 60 per month in petrol :T

For anyone who may be interested M&S have there £10 meal deal on this weekend.
They also have half price olive oil and several cooking sauces reduced to 89pence such as chilli, enchillado, tikka masala, sauces for meat and creamy sauces.
  • frugal, or what. :) I'm getting the hang of this now. So exciting. Feels like christmas. I have bagged a hovis rolled oats loaf, 30p, 6 wholemeal rolls, 30p, 30 meatballs 60p. I also got a Daewoo microwave off Freecycle - FREE. My first ever whoopsies and my first ever thing off freecycle. I could get used to this. Felt a bit odd getting something for free though. I am looking for something to put onto freecycle as a kind of thank you.

Grrrrrrr!!! I've just got all my utility bills down to a level I think is reasonable, and now I've had a text from my elder DS asking if he can creash here until he gets a place from the council (he's been told he can "bid", but hasn't been sucessful yet). He's been crashing at a mate's place, but apparently his mate's parents are making things difficult and he needs to move out (he doesn't live with them, so I'm not sure how they have a say in it). At least he's got a job, so I won't feel bad about making him pay his way (which includes covering the single person discount I'll no longer get on my council tax!)

Yes, FreeCycle feels too good to be true sometimes, doesn't it! I'm also very pleased with my shopping today as I got some lovely secondhand clothes and also picked up a new laundry basket for 10p!

TumptyTeapot: :naughty: naughty, naughty! But once you've been on here a while you'll realise that we all do it occasionally. :D

Make the most of him, CW: get him doing all those muscle jobs. ;)

Has anyone noticed all the foreign foods on AF recently? I don't know what half of them are but it's certainly added excitement to my online shopping...I've ordered some 'banana flavoured cream'.
