Lola, it's not easy when lots of things are happening at the same time. Hope everything starts to get better soon. If flylady seems a bit scary why not have a look on the decluttering thread on here. Lots of support on there with some good tips, might help to clear the hoard.

I too have circumstantial depression (it's been a foul year) and I'm finding that mindfulness is helping - there is a free course here - https://sites.google.com/site/mindfulnessonlinecourse/mindulness-online-introduction
It is a pretty big commitment as you diary what you practice and the meditations seem to be longer as the course goes on but it has really helped me.
Thanks for this. I do visual meditations so will take a look.
The Big R is still lingering in the background. But to be honest I have to leave it in the background and just get on with everyday life, or I would be a nervous wreck.!
Big hug. Must be awful to have this hanging over you

Hi
hope everyone is ok and if a hug is needed here's one on me :grouphug:
I also pratice mindfulness and meditation like Nuala and Tumpty it did take some getting used to but it's well worth it. felt low yesterday but better today if i'm like that I tend to take one day at a time although my new boss Helen was great when I explained to her she even encouraged me take take several walks out in the grounds to see if that would help me she's a real sweetie
have a good day everyoneEmma :hello:0 -
Raising from the ashes, dont kow how u do it! if i had to pay my fees, i dont think i would be at uni -- soo glad the Scottish Gov agreed not to raise prices or charge us. Just worried how this is going to effect the quality of our degrees tho
Hi Lola, yeah, it's fantastic & I've a few friends who have kids about to start Uni so it's a real weight off their shoulders (but still a bit peev'd that I'd get mine paid if I was full time but get nothing as I have to go part time, nevermind)!
Hoping you may be able to help explain something for me .......
I'd obviously prefer to study near me & have found that I can go to Napier p/t (which is great) and I know that Scottish degrees take 4 years, compared to England where they only take 3 years, but ....
I have 240 "points" and have been told by Napier that I would need to do 120 (year 1) to get an Ordinary Degree and another 120 (year 2) to get Hons. (£1800/year).
However, I've also looked at doing it online through an English Uni (which would obviously just be the 1 year) and I only need to get another 120 points to get an Hons degree through them (but would cost approx £3-3.5k depending on the Uni).
So, is an English Hons degree "only" 360 points, but a Scottish one 480 points?

but when I'm hanging up my work shirts the different sizes have to be on different coloured hangers - the 12's go onto pale grey and the 14's onto dark grey
Cheryl, I feel so much better now (it's good to know that "I'm not alone" in my idiosyncrasies)!;)Hoping to make an extra payment on one of my loans tomorrow!!! only £250 but thats something!!! I owe £1998 paying £106 a month.I am aiming to pay it off by summer!! I know £250 isnt much but its a very good start and I have never paid anything extra and early for anything!! So I am happy!! If i keep going like this ill have paid it off by August which would be fabulous!
Minnie, well done, keep ploughing away and it'll soon be gone:). I started with over £17k:eek: on cc's/loans and if you asked me what I had to show for it, I couldn't tell you. Once it's paid off, it's fantastic. I still try to stick to the "do I want/need this" before I spend (but do slip up now & then:o).NualaBuala wrote: »I'm on an enforced absence from the internet/computer because I have repetitive strain injury but have sneaked on here quickly to say hi.

I'm in East Lothian so just down the road!
Lived in Edinburgh for many years but was brought up in the country and missed the open spaces so I moved here about 6 years ago (oh boy, where does the time go).

Evening all, have managed to update my new spreadsheet and am aghast that I have spent nearly £200 on food this month already (god I must eat a lot!!!) I think for the second half of the month we will be eating out of the freezer for definite!!! The only frugal thing I have done today is to use suncream as face cream instead of my ususal cream which has run out!! Looked around at the millions of body creams that I have (where do they all come from???) but don't really like to put it on my face (don't really know why either) but saw the suncream and am now using that!!! It's great. off to put the kiddies to bed now and then do some marking and then off to bed. Am tired out!!!
Big hugs to everyone. x0
