Evans Halshaw Leeds, simply appaling....

Words fail me for how inept this company are :rotfl:

Bought a car on my debit card, 6k, some fault with their shoddy PDQ machine caused them to run around, be rude, keep me sitting around for three hours while they talked to their wives on mobiles before Barry, the overweight and frankly ill looking "Business Relations Manager" wheeled in Perma-tanned Paul, the top man who was even ruder.

As it stands, this is probably the worst service I have ever recieved...and a few years ago I visited Carcraft so that should show you how bad they are.

I would avoid their windswept, miserable offices if I were you

Evans Halshaw at York are just as c rap !

MIL bought a car last year, paid for it and went back a few days later only to be told oh you cant have it as weve sold it without the V5, we are applying for a new one so it might take a few days.

Because she was supposedly getting the new car she'd changes her insurance details etc and sent off the change of keeper details etc so now she cant drive her origional car. Eventually EH back down on that day and give her a courtesy car untill the V5 comes from DVLA.

Fast forward 5 weeks and eventually the V5 comes, no apology from them just "oh your car's ready" phone call.

    Utterly appauling service.

They had a place in Halesowen some years back, a Peugeot dealership......

Avoid like the plague, I spent 30 minutes waiting for someone at the parts counter before walking off and finding another dealership who were far quicker!

Evans Halshaw Newport (South Wales) are no better, I called them telling them I was interested in buying a car... this is the model I want and heres my budget "Ah yes not a problem sir, give me an hour or two and I'll check what stock we have and get back to you"

Needless to say, almost a year later.. still waiting on the call!

I haven't experienced customer "service" like that for quite a while, like stepping back 20 years.

I'm sure the drones handles everyday sales like clockwork but it's how you deal with that one or two a month that cause a problem. Judging by the aggressive headless chicken approach used by EH they have a bit of work to do on policy and procedure.

Seriously, I can only imagine what my customers would think if I spouted some of the shonky, 1970s type excuses these guys were using.

Yet, they survive, nay, prosper. Can it just be on the fleet market, perhaps they are a bit more cringing and fawning to them???

The sales side were crap, I ended up buying a vauxhall from another garage and Evans Halshaw were the local 'vauxhall dealer', took the car there for some warranty work, surprisingly they couldn't find ANYTHING wrong... took a 30 minute drive to another dealer who, found it and reluctantly fixed it.

Ended up selling the heap of crap and bought a Toyota :) Trouble free motoring.

I am of course joking, however id never buy one for the simple fact that they don't make anything that could set my heart racing :s

Haha cheeky, mine hasn't had any problems!

I'm only 22 but my biggest priorities were scarily this...

    Comfort
    Safety
    Economy

God I sound old! I guess Toyota have never been the brand to 'set your heart racing' but its nice to know I could probably lap the earth 5 times and the engine would still purr like a kitten!

If anything I'd expect the fleets to be far more willing to tear them a new one if there were big problems - there's big money at stake after all compared with Joe Bloggs and his £6k.

Maybe they just need to get less than x% wrong for them though - which wont be as much as an issue over 10,000 cars as it is with the one you've personally sunk your hard earned into
