Another laze in bed morning for me while Mr 3Dogs did his car boot :o feeling really down today mostly about the state of the house - when I got up, I did the dishes which were still there from yesterday then cleaned down the worktops after the mess Mr 3Dogs left them when I was away  We have things piled on top of things in the hall, which topple over with the slightest touch as you go past  too much furniture  too much clutter  You would think that the mess would be enough motivation to get down to decluttering wouldn't you, but no, it just gets left and I get more depressed about it :o

I need a kick up the B-UM     and so does Mr 3Dogs, but I feel guilty about that because he works hard at the car boot nowadays, and he is left to look after himself so much now with me going up to see Mam :o:o

Lovely of you neighbour to bring you those flowers and card Kit - just goes to prove what we all know already - you are such a lovely lady :A :A

hi mrs 3dogs, sorry to read that youre feeling a bit down today

is it all your car boot stuff that you have piled in the hall?

You've so much else to do at the moment thats far more important than keeping the house tidy so im sure you can be excused from letting it slip a bit. Please dont be too down on yourself. A happy home is more important than a tidy home :-)

Thanks so much Puds - it really is mostly clutter in the hall with a little car boot stuff, but about 20% of our bedroom is piled up with car boot/ebay/clutter and it is there, every time I look at it, if you know what I mean - daring me to move something so that it all comes tumbling down :) That's not to mention the car boot/ebay/clutter in the living room - about 10% of the room, but still 'in my face' all the time. We live in a small one-bedroomed bungalow and don't have space for it all, whereas we have lived in much larger properties in the past where we had space for everything - we have been here for 3 years now and still not cleared the clutter we brought with us, even after Mr 3Dogs getting the storage unit for his car boot and thinking that most of it would go there - no - the unit has filled up with all the car boot stuff so no space there for our clutter

It isn't even time to declutter I lack - it is motivation, but the way I feel about it, the job is always too big to start - you do some, and it just seems to get moved about instead of going away. Perhaps that's what I really want - for the clutter to just disappear at the twitch of my nose :p but I know that is never going to happen

So, Mr 3dogs has fallen asleep watching the footie on TV, and I am going to make a start with the hall right now - I don't feel like doing it but I want to do it - motivation, motivation ......... I will make a start NOW

    Thanks again Puds ........................... :A

I'm like that 3dogs. I had a flats worth of stuff that i had to condence into a tiny bedroom. My floor is covered with stuff, my wardrobe and chest of drawes can't talk all of my clothes (i had two wardrobes and a chest of drawers double the size in my flat) and i spill out into where ever is free! I buy clothes i never wear, and then they sit there with the purpose of being ebayed/sold at a car boot and it never seems to make it there! I hate it as well, everytime i go in my room, but there is always something better to do than touch my bedroom junk!!

Susan petal dont worry. you are going through so much at the moment with your mam, the DRO stuff is difficult to handle and you are there for your neighbour too. Something has to slip. Do not beat yourself up ok.

I am supposed to be tidying but I have spent the day in my pjs and in bed!!! It is nice to see you all. I just interrogated George by email. wonder if he will reply. I can't believe i asked so much, i hope he is still my friend. EEEEEK! He did. For the record he rocks!!!

Thanks for your support guys - I knew you would appreciate what I feel like at the moment :A that's how this thread works :D:D

Anyhow, I tidied away the stuff from the tops of the bookcase, hall-table, and bureau in the hall and put back what should be there and it looks a lot better - I also did a bit of tidying in the kitchen, not much but enough for now ;) so I do feel a bit more positive :j then I went round to my friends for our chat and cuppa and stayed about an hour and a half so unwound a bit there just chatting and joking :D

Mr 3Dogs started the dinner while I was there and it is ready to dish up now, so going to eat theat and then come back on here
