SW when paper jams in a shredder you should press the reverse button so the paper comes back upwards to clear it. If it totally jams, it will automatcally cut out as it will overheat. However, when it has cooled down, it should work again hun
So wipe your eyes, put the chocolate away, and try the shredder again in half an hourMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

SW - Just switch it off and get the rest of the paper out. That has happened to my one. Also sometimes if you put too much paper in they overheat, so just leave it for a bit if that does not work

ok first things first. chocolate.3dogs wrote:I went and bought a box of 7 packs of Hers*y's chocolate snacks
Hi frit, happy belated birthday
Hi SW - if we dont do the rude stuff til really late then guess i'll be back later. what shall i bring to the party? will i need to bring any equipment?
Anyway you make a good stalker so no need to stop on my account, very balanced i think, just creepy enough but no sinister undertones! In fact I think if there was a school for stalkers, then you'd be the class swot!
Your lurking skills are fantastic - take the other day on LW31 when a certain new person on here typed some comments and published them for a few minutes before trying to edit them all away without being seen... Oh no! in those few moments your eagle eyes had spotted the post, read it and committed it almost word for word to memory like a walking talking human archiving system. And those are all very essential qualities need to be the perfect stalker ;-)savingwannabe wrote: »i just told Vixarooni that we all love Puddings. Poor guy he is going to be so embarrased!
Hi Beanie - do you feel lilke the pied piper? we're all starting to follow you around the threads now, where are you off to next? ... i'll get mi coat and flat cap
Hi Vixarooni - i didnt realise you were feeling fed up the other day, i'd have made more of an effort to cheer you up if i'd known... you should post that action shot of murphy in the snow on here, i bet 3dogs would appreciate it. You didnt go for the powerplate thing today? I dont blame you, why go to all that effort when theres a perfectly good washing machine with spin cycle, in your kitchen?0 -
I was trying to be clever and put my tweezers in to pull them out but there are two bits of paper in there they are only little. Do you think i killed it ? it is only 20 minutes old.
I ate a packet of minstrels and 3 jaffacakes. Beanie you are not as stupid as me. Why can't i do anything electrical? I walk past the photocopier in our department and it passes out. I am sure it is me. If God has photocopiers or these squishy things i am not going to Heaven. I REFUSE.
Oh Frit meet Puddings he is our friend and now yours too. He is lovely. I am stalking him and George. Have you guys seen George's thread everyone is worried about him. GeorgeUk look him up. Can't find it.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
sw - i agree with 3dogs, try reverse first, if it doesnt have a reverse switch then try pulling it back the way it came. theres not much oint tring to pull it through the mechanism forwards... iftheres a staple of something in there thats jammed it then it will only make it worse.
if the machine's in two parts (the shredder mechanism on top with a separate bin underneath) then there may also be a cut out switch for if the two parts are seperated apart.
a lot of shredders are quite rubbish, with a limit of 3 or 4 sheets at a time... to get rid of a whole file of papers can takes aaages
if all else fails, then i'd do what you do and just open the chocolate :-)0
