Oh funny story from my train journey today - well not so funny actually!!
On the way up, a black coffee on the train was £1.70, so I had £1.70 ready for when the guy came round with the trolley today - when he eventually came (one and a half hours into my 2 hour 10 min journey) I asked for my black coffee and said '£1.70 isn't it? I've got the right money ready' to which he replied 'No, it's £1.90 now, VAT increase you know'
Now, to my knowledge, VAT went up from 17.5% to 20%, so 20p extra on a £1.70 cup of coffee - err, I don't think that's right, is it?
P.S. my brother had given me some change to get a drink and something to eat, or I would not have bought it!!!!!
Blimey... Rip off britain..

Next time take your own flask.
My brother offered to do me a flask but I thought I had enough to carry already - actually I had a litre bottle of flavoured water with me, so did not actually need to get a coffee, so who's the fool - ME!!!Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Gosh it is so irritating when that happens. They can charge what they like as trains are a monopoly provider. That's business.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220
