    Can somebody help me with this, im wanting to do a family tree for MIL for her birthday in June so ive got 6 mnoths, do i need to know names of family members, im not really sure where to start, obviously i cant ask her!

    No there isn't but there is a St Athan near Cardiff.

    If doing MILs family you'l need her date of birth and parents' names. The more info you can get off hubby the better - grandparents dates of birth, places they lived, sibling etc. then you can work back a generation at a time.
