    So still on no 14.

jinty~It would count as a NSD in mt book.
The cheek of Waterstones though
    Hope it came out.

Glad you got out Beanie - coffee and cake - my favourite treat too!

Cheryl - out buying coffee especially eh? Just like a Gold Blend advert ;)

    But it's not serious.............;)

Jinty - where did you get your eyebrows theaded if you don't mind me asking? I get mine done regually at a stand in our shopping centre called Silky Brows (there seem to be a few springing up locally) and it's £5 a go (more if you want your tpo lip done too ) they also do eyebrow tiniting, though I've never bothered. I was initally a bit :o about sitting in a three sided pen with eyeryone walking by but frankly, no one bats an eyelid and since you're facing away with your eyes closed, it doesn't matter anyway :rotfl: Don't know if they have any such stands up your neck of the woods though?

I got them done at a stand in Debenhams called Allure. Judging by what you and Moneypenny pay, I think I've paid over the odds at £14. However, it was a real impulse thing and I'm really pleased with the results. I'm sure there are a good few places in Edinburgh that do it ( probably cheaper) but yesterday it was a case of " I want them done and NOW!:o

P.S. Just realised that this is my 1000th post!

    Good morning everyone,

    Very blustery here today.

I've decided NOT to claim a NSD for yesterday as I felt I was cheating a bit after the spends.
You're so right though Spoon, in the old days I would have quite happily brandished the CC and slapped not only the moisturiser on but also a few other things ( probably to get the "free gift" which I would never use). At least my attitude has changed, in that if I want something a little more expensive, something else has to go - in this case a pile of DVDs on Amazon marketplace;)
    DVD's make rubbish moisturiser anyway:rotfl:
Good luck with the tax return - you have my sympathies, I do OH's for him, but I have a financial background so it's not too much of a chore for me.
Today SHOULD be a NSD as I am going to do a bit of housework, then we are off to visit MIL this afternoon. I am not parting with any cash........NO I AM NOT (repeat!)

    Have a lovely day everyone!:)

Not in that way it's not (or not yet... who can foresee the future ;))
But I'm happy to make an effort for friends too - especially when it saves my 'special' supplies :p

Just waiting to find out if his cold's got the better of him again today. He's already on a rain-check from last Sunday, which was moved to yesterday, and then to today :o But if he's not good I'd rather he wasn't driving today - especially as his job is all driving and outdoors walking......

But I'm itching to get his laptop over here so I can improve the security on it (he's wanting to do on-line banking and it needs improving before he does that, but as he's on a dongle with limited download allowance - and connectivity issues - it makes more sense to do it on my home connection!!)

If he's still rough, then you'll probably all hear the fight about me going over to his. He's not happy I keep going that way (and spending on petrol), and claims it's not fair on me when he's not good company. But after the start of this week (including 4 hours in A&E with him) I'm hoping I've proved I can cope with poor company rolleyes2.gif

Yesterday was NSD Number 10 yeay :)

Although I was immensely bored. My OH goes out on Saturdays with mates! They are in to old arcade machines (buying, restoring, playing selling etc). So it's part hobby part business. Well they don't make much profit though but still he enjoys it.

Today might be a spend day as I fancy going out and would love a coffee shop coffee (I don't drink coffee at home).
  • Going for NSD5 today...should be able to do it as I dont think we are going anywhere...Ive caught the decluttering bug and I want to get my bedroom finished today! I should make some money on ebay later on though when all my dvds finish, at least 2 of them have sold already, one of which is more expensive than it is on amazon...do people not check around before they bid?! Oh well, im not complaining :-) have a good day everyone!

  • Hi everyone, feeli g I am doing very well on this challenge this month, 9/20 already in the bag. Other than essentials there have only been 5 days when I have spent money this month, yesterday we went out for the day and had a drink each in the town we were in & bought a jigsaw puzzle in a charity shop, I spent £2.47 on postage returning a top to get a £8 refund (ok maybe you can settle a "discussion" between me and my oh, I got the £8 refunded to my cc and had to get a train from town I work in to town I live in and this cost £7.20 andused credit on cc to pay for this. So I say this still counts as a NSD as I already spent the money in Dec? Oh disagrees), I spent £5.95 on a lunch thing for work - so far so good - I spent £200 on 4th Jan on our tv aeriel that was broken  My car broke last week and ended up having to spend £1200 :eek::eek::eek: to have a load of work done to it!!!!

All I can say is thank god I have been so "frugal" for the rest of the month!
