twitter- can a new user revert to old style?

I have just set up a new twitter a/c for a friend, who is having probs / not liking the new style, especially when comparing to my ('old school') one..
trying to find things that were clearly displayed on OS is harder, and really puttig us off.
we have tried clearing cookies etc, but there seems no way out..?
