Ooops!
Paid of a large amount on my cc card the last week and wondered why it hadnt shown up on the statement/balance yet. On checking my inet banking payment details ive got 3 digits in the wrong order(343 instead of 434).
Gonna phone the bank now but just wondering where I stand with this kinda thing?
PS: sorry if wrong forum! didnt know where else was appropriate for this topic

Well if it results in any charges and/or interest there's not a lot you can do since it's not a bank error. But phoning the bank is the right thing to do, so they can locate the payment and transfer it into your account.0

Depending on how far down the chain it is depends on how easy it is to resolve.
By the sounds of it this should be relatively straight forward as the last digits are check sums so the likelihood is that the money will have gone to your credit card company (which is defined by the first 4-6 digits) but will have gone into a suspense account as it is unlikely that changing the last 3 digits will generate an acceptable card number.
Whilst normally I would say to contact your bank straight away on this occasion it is probably better to contact your card issuer in the first place as it would be easier for them to get the money out of the suspense account and onto your card than your bank to have to get the money back and you then have to pay it out again to hit your credit card. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

The money will have gone to the right card payment account but when it arrived there it would not have been possible to allocate it to your card account. So it should just be a matter of provinding the card company with the details and they can then allocate it to your card account.0
