On 28th December 2010 I visted the Toby Carvery at The Watermill Suttin In Ashfield Notts. A fter being seated we were advised that the only 'meal deal' available to us that day was the festive Fayre menu at the evening price of £13.50 even though it was 12 noon as it was classed as a bank holiday. The on table pricing information was completely contrary to this It stated 'Festive Fayre' was £9.50 daytime £13.50 evening excepting Christmas Day and Boxing Day - Tuesday 28th December at 12 noon was neither of these! We declined the offer and decided to leave only to hear another nearby table being given information totally contrary to that we had received from our waitress.(they were offerred lower price) There was no other information, chalk board etc displayed in the pub advising of a change in pricing policy for that day. I queried this all with the mangeress of the day as I left. She confirmed the 'inflated' price even though it was contrary to what was advertised but also implied I was telling lies when I tried to inform her of the confusing information being given to different diners by the staff. I was truly appallled by her attitude towards me!!!
I have written to head office as this appears to be rather ,sharp practise, by Toby Carvery who should have displayed the correct information. I have also suggested they train the young and insolent 'manageress ' in better customer relations. We went to another nearby pub chain who served us a carvery meal at the regular weekday daytime price. I will not be patronising Toby Carvery again which is a shame as we have had some pleasant times there. BUYERS BEWARE as you may find you have a bigger forkfull than you bargained for!!!

I agree it's potentially misleading, but guess that they are saying that 28th December was the Boxing Day Bank Holiday - just as 27th was the Christmas Day Bank holiday
