A&L Question

Hi

I want to set an premier account for my dad up..where he'll deposit £500 a month in, I know i can refer him to get £50 each but is there any other way we can both get more free incentives??

Ive got rpoints and used it for myself to set up an A&L Account before and got an extra £25. Can i use it again to get more points or shall I set up a repoints account for my dad so he'll get the points..obviously i'd refer him for rpoints..

If i set him up on rpoints using my pc do i have to delete my cookies before or is is better to use rpoints on another pc!

Any help much would be great!

Thanks

If you take a look at the new refer-a-friend voucher, you'll see there's now a multiple incentive exclusion - meaning you can no longer do both the R-A-F and, for example, Quidco.

The R-A-F scheme will be more profitable for you.
  • Thats great. am i right in thinking that if he opens a online saver aswell he'll get an extra £25??

sorry when i opened my account someone did it for me and i know i had about £100ish for just opening a online saver an a premier account!

    Thanks

There was a deal not that long ago where people could apply for an online saver and at the end of the application a screen came up offering a £50 incentive for opening a current account also. This might be how you opened your account if you got £100 in incentives. I'm not sure if they still do this as I don't know anyone who has opened an online saver recently - also even if they do still do it due to the multiple incentive exclusion YBoy told you about they may pay out on this but not the refer a friend money. I would just go for the refer a friend money straight up in order to be on the safe side if I were you.

    Michelle,

    Just thinking about this further...

What if the OP opened his account way back in March this year?

If they did, and they haven't yet used the old (pre-April) £50 referral voucher that came with the welcome pack, might there be a chance that the other party could apply via Quidco (for £50), and then submit the old £50 voucher that doesn't have the multiple exclusion clause?

That way, it's possible they could gain £150 between them, because they wouldn't be contravening the (new) conditions.

EDIT: BTW, wasn't it the Direct ISA 2 application where, at the end of it, you were presented with a chance to make £50 by applying for a current account there and then? The reason I'm asking is that I'm sure the offer was running at the start of this year, but I didn't see it when I opened my OS2 account in January.
  • As it happens I did open my account back in March...

I have rung them and they are sending info in the post, just want to make sure i can get the most out of them.

I have a meeting with them next month regarding my account and the incentive is £25..and think if i take anything with them i get another £50.

Whichi i'm thinking of getting a loan with them!

Ps Tried hitting thank you buttons but shoots to the top of the screen so will thank you both loads later at home!

    Hi Yorkshire Boy,

I think perhaps the Direct Isa Issue 2 offered the extra £50 as well but I know for a fact that the Online Saver used to offer it up until a few months ago. I don't know if it does anymore since the terms and conditions of the accounts changed in Sept but then again I don't know for a fact it's been discontinued either. I've referred someone who got this £50 offer from the Online Saver about a month and a half ago but as the refer a friend money's not been paid out yet I couldn't say one way or the other if a&l will reject it or not.

As for using the old voucher from the initial welcome pack and going through quidco - it might work but there are no guarantees. I really think it's all down to luck with who puts the referrals through at a&l to be honest! It really depends how much the OP is willing to risk it. If they do reject it you can always argue you didn't know anything about the new conditions and wouldn't have gone through quidco if you had - of course, once again, they'd still be quite within their rights to say no and you could end up getting less.

It would be very interestnig to see if they'd still accept those vouchers or not. The last one of these I used was a couple of months ago and the person concerned contacted me last week to tell me that the quidco money had been rejected so it may well be that they'll pay out on the refer a friend money but eventually reject the quidco payment as it takes 3 months to validate. Of course that might have just been a one off case so we have no way of knowing anything for sure!!

Let us know what you decide to do Richie23!
