I'm looking for cheaper Electricity than British Gas for prepay.

Been using the compare sites and notices a fault I think. I put in I use £60.00 a month for Lecy, it says i spend around £100 per month.

My use is £15.00 per week, therefore £60.00 per month. Add the £1.80 a week charge thats £12.60 per month. Therefore in total £72.60

The site being moneysupermarket says my deal at the moment costs around £100 per month. Therefore that would be £25.00 a week use. Says I save £46.42 a year.

HOWEVER. How can this be right if the compare basically says I use 25.00 a week lecy. Afraid to switch incase it costs me more.

Used a few sites, some come up with better savings. Or the same tarrif but a different saving , rather confussed.

Anybody help please?

Thank you

Appears the money supermarkert compare is wrong in how many Kwh I use also. Other sites state the same, yet Money supermarket says the wrong KWH and how much I spend.

To get an accurate result you should enter your annual consumption in Kwh.
    Try Energyhelpline.

Just find it rather odd how one out of many giving a different response to the same information. I don't know my yearly consumption in Kwh, use prepayment meter. I go by how much I actually spend per week, currently close to £15.00 a week electricity.

Some of these sites have vested interest so wont always be impartial

As said to get a better comparison you always use your actually consumption and NOT what you pay

How do i get my Kwh if on prepayment? How does Kwh over weekly spend get an accurate result? My electricity used to be £7 per week, currently at £15! Probably due to electric shower(just installed) and price increase.
  • you need to actually read the meter - if you look at the meter there is a button, every time you press, you get the next display screen - look on the website to see which screen shows the readings!
