OK, I've got BartPE up and running on the machine and can access the Registry but, other than I think I should be looking in HKEY_USERS\MyXPHive(loaded from Windpws\system32\config)\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon, I haven't got a clue what should be there (for a non-networked, no domain, one user, no password machine) and what shouldn't.
From albertross' post, DefaultDomainName is the only one present of the three he lists.0 -
How about adding the two missing entries as registry keys then?
Might be worth trying this. You can always delete them again if it doesn't work.
edit: Having looked at my own registry entry, the domain is 'PC', which is exactly the name I gave my PC the last time I installed windows.
Also i have a key called LogonType. The value for this is 0x00000001 (1)
I don't have to enter a password, nor does it prompt me to do so.0 -
If you are going down the registry route would it not be better to have a look at microsofts answer Here to recover from a corrupt registry.Or indeed do a repair instead...
I have nothing better to do!!!!
