HI
I got an Acer 5553g second hand last month, it's ok for gaming but I'm looking for something much faster, a laptop built for gaming.
I had a look at the Toshiba Qosmio X500-149 at £1599 in PC World
Any ideas ?
Thanks

A gaming laptop ??? Ever seen a hippo race ? Too many conflicts - main one being battery life.0

Take a look at the HP Envy series.
The cpu power is certainly there; makes my desktop feel sluggish; but I'm not sure if an ATI 58xx series card is good enough for you? (I wouldn't know, I don't run games on it).0 -

Hey Hippos are pretty quick, will easily outpace most humans.
and no one with a gaming laptop cares about battery life.
For a budget systems id recommend the MSI GX660 / GT660 (i5/i7 + hd5870) or the GT663 (gtx460m) all are 15"
A bit more somthing in the Asus G73J range or MSI GX740 both are 17"
Then if you have buckets of cash the top Alienware really cannot be beaten for spec (best mobile i7 + twin hd5870s)0 -
I've got a Dell XPS laptop that was sold as having gaming abilities a couple of years ago.
Its graphics aren't up to it.0 -
"and no one with a gaming laptop cares about battery life." -then why waste money on a laptop?0
